Update 17: The Home Stretch
over 1 year ago – Fri, Sep 16, 2022 at 09:19:42 AM

[tl;dr: Stretch goal unlocked, New stretch goal announced, Din’Lux Spotlight, Final Conundrum, Storyteller AMA reminder]

Goooooooood afternoon Seekers! We had a wonderful morning meeting today when we were able to celebrate unlocking our next stretch goal!

Now each time you pass that Destiny Bag around the table (“I’m only pulling numbers, you do it!”) you’ll be able to gaze lovingly at the custom bag design. Right now the mockup shows our Kinfire Chronicles logo, but Art Director Kate has plans…

As we turn our attention to our next goal, a new challenger approaches!

///NEW STRETCH GOAL- ART UPGRADE FOR STORY CARD BACKS

That’s right, we’ve got another Base Tier upgrade squeezing its way into the stretch goal list! We’re picking up pace to hit the $245k goal and we wanted to do something more for all of you.

If we hit $235K, we’ll upgrade the back of each quest’s story cards to incorporate more art. Right now all the quest card backs look similar.

We figure that adding art elements from the gorgeous folio covers would help make each quest feel even more unique and immersive. Further, if you were to ever misplace a story card (it happens to the best of us), this would be another visual way (in addition to the unique numbering) to tell where it belongs. Our graphic designer, Ines, has some cool ideas on how to do this so we’ll be excited to show you.

We’ll have a sample card back for you when we unlock it. We’re already pretty close, so let’s go go go!

///DIN’LUX SPOTLIGHT

On Tuesday, Kevin Wilson walked us through two areas of Din’Lux: The Stumps and The Horseshoe, the two areas closest to the sea, where most of the working class folk live, and also the home of the Seekers’ Guild. Today he’s going to take you further up into The Nests and The Coping.

The Nests

This is the second area of Din’lux that you’ll gain access to, and it houses most of the more successful merchants and many of the powerful but not ruling elven families who lived in the city before the Darkness returned. This segment of town is modeled somewhat after the steep neighborhoods of San Francisco. The Nests are dominated by Glory Plaza in the center, which is both a town plaza for the “middle class” of Din’lux as well as a place for various performers to gather. Since this is kind of the ‘showcase’ view of the city as you walk up the steps to the High Gate (and therefore something visiting dignitaries might see) there’s a city ordinance that any building roofs visible from Glory Plaza must be made from a pricey blue stone that is quarried near the town. I also put a lot of thought into where the more valuable estates would be placed in this area, typically on the edges where there are fewer neighbors and better views, as well as high up. A later addition to this area is a wagon road that winds its way back and forth through the borough. I realized that there needed to be a more practical way for heavy goods to be brought to the Coping, and that led to the creation of Market Gate and its corrupt guardsmen, who collect taxes on every wagon that passes through.

The Coping

This is the third and final area of Din’lux, where the wealthiest and most important members of society dwell. Powerful old noble families, the main segment of the Church, and the rulers of the city all tend to live here. The Great Lighthouse naturally forms the center of the Coping, built so as to shine its light on as large an area surrounding Din’lux as possible, to stabilize the farmlands and other supporting communities needed to support such a large city. City Hall is here, as is an elite guard force, the High Guard, who are headquartered here in the High Garrison along the northern walls. Only the finest shops can afford to operate here, so the rarest goods in the city are found for sale here. There are also a series of stone benches lining the northern wall, for sitting and enjoying the spectacular view of the countryside. Many of the city’s elite meet with each other and conduct business while sitting in these benches, while their servants stand nearby with refreshments, but a few of the more unusual inhabitants of Din’lux can sometimes be found here as well.

There’s a lot more that has gone into the creation of the city of Din’lux. I wanted it to be a character all its own - our Ankh-Morpork or Waterdeep, so there’s a lot to explore and uncover in the city. While Vinna clocks in at 7 locations, Din’lux has over 40, including a library, a casino, a number of shops and inns, and even bounty offices where you can collect bounties on your defeated enemies or even have rare creature parts turned into items for your use. Hopefully by the time you play through the campaign, you’ll know it like the back of your hand.

///WINNING CONUNDRUM- THE (ALMOST) FINAL TALLY

When the Seekers arrive in the dining hall of the guild, they are surprised to find a crowd. Word of this little contest, it seems, has spread. Khor carefully places their box on a table and opens it. Gasps and chuckles ripple through the audience of off-duty Seekers.

A frenzied murmuring comes from a collection of dice sitting on the table, eliciting strange looks from the crowd. “Shhh,” Khor says to them before tucking them into their satchel.

“Well, Feyn,” Asha says, collapsing into a chair and kicking their feet up, “who’s the winner?”

“Yeah!” someone in the crowd calls out. “Who won?”

Feyn jumps onto a table and lifts Khor’s box to show the crowd. “To remind you all of the terms of this competition, the victor will be wearing this!” The room bursts into cheers and whistles. Feyn sets down the box and pulls a square piece of parchment from his pocket. He clears his throat. “In last place, I’m afraid we have Roland with a single point. What a sad, sad performance.”

Roland looks over to the contents of Khor’s box. “That’s a victory in my book.”

“Tied for fourth place, we have Naz and myself!” Feyn’s grin grows even larger as he gives a little bow.

Naz shrugs. “Normally, I hate losing. But in this case…I’ll make an exception.”

“And in an unprecedented three-way tie, we have…in first place…Asha, Valora, and Khor!”

The crowd roars.

“What?!” Asha cries. “There’s no way I’m in first place. Count again!”

Khor bounces a little on the balls of their metal feet and puts their hands together in a silent clap. Valora laughs and pats Khor on the back. “So what now?” she asks. “We can’t all wear this.”

The crowd begins to chant. “Tie-breaker! Tie-breaker! Tie-breaker!”

The tiny voice of a talking d6 chants from Khor’s bag. “Tie-breaker! Tie-breaker!”

Feyn motions for everyone to quiet down. “I’m afraid there’s no better way to break this tie than to put it in the hands of the people.” He motions to the crowd before him, who explode into cheers. “Fellow Seekers! Which of these three excellent contestants should be declared the victor?!”

Who should have to wear the outfit inside of Khor's box? Conundrum- Choose Between: Khor, Valora, or Asha!

Cast your vote in the comments for who should receive the ultimate prize!

Friends, I am sad to report that this will be the last conundrum of our community campaign. Tomorrow we’ll know which Seeker has the most Kinfire tokens, and we'll reveal it in story. Then that gives our artists the weekend to create the final drawing of their… prize. Which we will reveal in Monday’s update. This could be the most important vote of them all!

///UNLOCKED SIDEQUEST: THE ASCENT

By the power of board gamer tropes we were able to make it to the top of the mountain in only a matter of hours! Thank you to all of you who participated in and shared yesterday's post. Because of you, we totally blew past our social goal (more than doubled the points to 18k) and unlocked another hour of content for the game. To learn more about the sidequest you unlocked–The Ascent–check out Update 15!

Base Tier Unlocked - New sidequest: The Ascent; +1 hour of game content
Premium Tier - Unlocked; 1 Acrylic standee from unlocked sidequest The Ascent

Not only did we just unlock a sidequest, but we're sooooo close to that next stretch goal! At $230K we'll unlock a design upgrade for the Destiny Bag. There's not far to go, and I have the utmost confidence that–with your help–we can do it!

///BLANK QUEST FOLIO- WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?

Many of you have been asking about the blank quest folios and what a DIY quest might look like. So I (Cathy, story editor here at Incredible Dream) would love to show you!

For those who don’t know, we have a pack of 4 blank quest folios available as an add-on. These contain components with blank spaces for you to write on so that you can further the story of your Seekers by coming up with your very own quests. Wishing you could pit Khor and Asha against a giant squid in the Great Sea? Or send Khor and Valora into a rat-infested fire swamp? The story is yours to write. Your only limits are your imagination!

For my own DIY quest, I asked my 7-year-old to team up with me on coming up with a fun story. At home, we recently watched Alice in Wonderland, which he totally fell in love with (he even has a stuffed Alice now). He’s also really into worms, spiders, and other creepy crawlies. So we let these things inspire our quest.

The introduction, written directly on the folio box, starts off with an orcish baker who accidentally mixes up his baking ingredients with magic potion ingredients. Chaos, of course, ensues. Cake that makes you grow! Sandwiches that make you shrink! Tea that puts you to sleep! These items gave us a chance to make some fun memory cards that come in handy later in the quest.

The blank quests also come with 4 cardboard tokens to use as enemy focus tokens. We decided to use both sides of ours—one side as a focus token and the other side as a breadcrumb token. As you search for the baker’s missing cousin (and his puppy!), you follow a trail of breadcrumbs. Once you collect 4 breadcrumb tokens, it’s off to the battle, where you find yourselves face-to-face with four animals who have eaten the cake and grown into giant creatures!

On our enemy sheets and standees, we have a giant earthworm, jumping spider, chicken, and the lost puppy. We tried to come up with some fun mechanics based on our animals. The spider spits webs at you in the form of trapped statuses, and if the chicken and the worm end up in the same space, the chicken eats the worm and gains 5 health!

4 Enemy sheets with handwritten text in ability spaces and hand-drawn illustration in art spaces; 4 rectangular standees with hand-drawn illustrations of a puppy, a worm, a rooster, and a spider; 2 tokens showing cake and 2 tokens showing enemies.

The goal of the quest is not only to find the missing cousin, but also to find his puppy Eli and ensure his survival. Otherwise, you lose the quest and have to face the baker and his cousin. But if instead you are able to give the antidote to the puppy and return him to his normal size, you win!

I had such a blast working on this quest at home. It was a chance to dust off my markers and make some fun stuff with my kiddo. We can’t wait until these make it out into the world so that we can see what amazing things you all create!

///WINNING CONUNDRUM: MACES, KNIVES, AND BOOKS, OH MY!

The heavy, gilded doors of the Library of Light creak as they open. The library is dead silent apart from a few other scowling Seekers browsing in the picture book section. As the group passes through the shelves, Roland lingers next to a collection of romance novels with wind-torn dwarves on the covers. “I’ll catch up,” he says, pulling his reading glasses from his jacket pocket.

“He’s already read through that series twice now,” Valora whispers.

“A good story is worth hearing a hundred times over,” Feyn says. He grins a lopsided grin.

“Wait, everyone! I’ve found it. This is the one.” Asha pulls a silver volume from the shelf.

“Maces and Knives: A Guide,” Khor reads aloud. “Hmm…couldn’t we look for something a little less…work-related?”

Naz pushes through to Asha. “Let’s read it now!”

Naz and Valora look at a book together

As Asha begins to read aloud, a woman in a long, hooded cloak approaches.

“It’s you,” the woman says. “You’re the ones who saved me.” She pulls back her hood, revealing long, red hair and milky white eyes.

“A foreteller,” Feyn murmurs. Everyone else looks around at one another.

“I’m sorry,” Valora says, “but I don’t believe we’ve ever met.”

“You all saved me from that vicious shark bear,” the woman says again.

Naz laughs. “A what?”

Feyn waves his hands at them and whispers in a low voice. “Foretellers don’t always see what is before them. Their vision reaches to the past, the present, and…the future. We haven’t saved this woman in the past…but we may yet.”

“Please,” the woman implores, “choose an enchanted item from my wares as a thank you.” She opens her cloak to reveal an array of random items hanging from tiny chains.

Valora spots something familiar. “Hey, isn’t that my—“ but Feyn shakes his head vigorously.

Just then, Roland appears balancing a stack of books reaching higher than the shelves themselves. “What did I miss?” he asks…

For those of you rooting for Naz, I'm excited to say that she's finally on the board! And it looks like Asha and Valora are now tied for the lead. If you're just joining us, it’s not too late to join in! Read more about our daily conundrums in Update 9.

Seeker Leaderboard: Valora 3, Roland 1, Naz 1, Khor 2, Feyn 2, Asha 3

It’s nice to see that Valora has some competition! Stay tuned tomorrow (and vote below!) to find out what the Seekers choose…

You saved a sorceress from the jaws of a shark bear and she is now in your debt. She begs you to choose something from her wares. Which enchanted item do you take? Choose One: Enchanted toilet brush (Roland and Valora +1), Talking D6 (Khor and Naz +1), or Always-warm socks (Asha and Feyn +1)

Update 15: Tag Yourself
over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 14, 2022 at 01:33:09 PM

[tl;dr- Community goal announcement, Din’Lux game spotlight, daily conundrum]

Seekers, we are just about 5K away from unlocking the custom Destiny Bag stretch goal, and we only announced it yesterday! Absolutely incredible. We can’t lose sight of it, but I am going to ask you to multitask a little bit. Because…

/// NEW COMMUNITY GOAL: WHO DIS?

There’s more than 1 way to climb a mountain! We wanted to come up with a different way that the community could help us unlock The Ascent side quest. In the process, we thought about the many different types of gamers that are backing us (something worth celebrating!). Then “tea and board games” won the conundrum vote and we knew what we had to do.

You just know if the Seekers showed up for a game night, this would be what it would look like. What kind of board gamer are you? Personally, I’d love to say I’m Khor, but I have it on good authority that I'm Asha. Which leads me to our new Community goal for The Ascent: let’s play a game!

This post is up on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Help us start a conversation around board gaming this week and we’ll unlock the Bonus Stretch Goal!

8,000ers are 14 mountains more than 8K meters above sea level

Here’s how to help unlock this additional content: like, comment, share, and/or tag today’s post on whatever platform you enjoy. Tell us who you are! That’s it.

If we can be an eight-thousander (reach 8000 points) we will unlock The Ascent bonus stretch goal. Here’s how the points work:

25 points- per like (on the original post)

75 points- per comment on the original post with which board gamer you are

150 points- per tag of a friend with which board gamer they are

200 points- per retweet/share on Facebook

250 points- per share on your story (tag us so I know)

300 points- per QT (quote tweet) with which board gamer you are

(Don't worry, you don't have to keep track of this. That's for me to do)

We can’t wait to see what kind of board gamers we have here!

/// SIDEQUEST: THE ASCENT

All side quests add an additional hour of gameplay to the core game experience. Each side quest comes with all new maps, enemies, adventure, and combat. This means 30+ story cards (now upgraded to black core & linen finish, automatically). New enemy standees with unique AI (including an additional acrylic standee for Premium backers). Additional maps added to the Atlas mapbook (automatically included in the digital map book). New memories (automatically upgraded with more art). Additional in-game rewards. But most importantly, more quality game time with your friends. Side quests represent the BIGGEST value in terms of stretch goals (and the  most amount of work). We hope you’re as excited about them as we are!

So what’s in this sidequest (The Ascent) anyway? For those of you who wish to remain unspoiled, jump to the next section of the update (we’ll still hide spoiler-y images behind a cut).

Are they gone? Great. For those of you left, here’s a few of the things you have to look forward to when we unlock The Ascent.

Interested? Help us get to 8,000! Go tag yourself– onward and upward!

/// DIN’LUX SPOTLIGHT

A few of you have asked, what is this rolled up thing on the right:

That is the City of Din’Lux, a massive city with 44 points of interest for you to explore in the game. It’s so massive that we’re frankly still working on it. So, we asked Kevin and Kate to share a bit of insight into the city:

The city of Din’lux is divided into four boroughs, segregated by wealth and status. At the bottom level of the city are the Stumps and the Horseshoe, home to its poorest inhabitants as well as the remnants of the dwarven army that was allowed into the city when the Darkness fell. Then, as you climb higher and pass through the Market Gate, you enter the Nests, which is a well-to-do section of the city designed somewhat like the infamously steep streets of San Francisco. Finally, at the top of the city is the Coping, where the most wealthy and powerful live, isolated and protected, and nestled close to the centerpiece of the city - the Great Lighthouse of Din’lux, which is what allows the city to survive and thrive despite the Darkness.

When working from the original concept given to us by Mateusz and Jakub, my goal was to create a fantastic city that was plausible rather than realistic. Too often, realism is the enemy of fun and wonder, and I wanted to make sure that above all else, Din’lux was an exciting place to visit.

The Stumps and the Horseshoe

Upon arriving in Din’lux, you will only have access to the Stumps and the Horseshoe. These are the two poorest parts of town, and the first parts of the city that Darrell and I designed. I actually worked from the front gate (the Low Gate) inwards. Starting out, I placed the first military forces of Din’lux near the gate, ready to defend the town. From there, you have a number of merchants taking advantage of the foot traffic entering and leaving the city, and then the nicer part of the Stumps, a residential area that is home to a number of craftsmen and fisherman. Since the Great Sea that Din’lux borders is salt water, there are a number of public wells sprinkled around the Stumps to provide fresh water to anyone who needs it (created with the aid of magic).

Back towards the rear of the town is where you’ll find some of the more interesting places to visit, including the Library, where you can research a number of topics about Atios (and maybe get a few in-game rewards for doing so as well), and a casino where you can do some gambling if you’re short on coin. The Seekers’ Guildhall is right next to the Library as well, inside a somewhat fortified area for the two buildings. Then, you reach the Tumbles, the poorest part of Din’lux, and while it’s not quite a shantytown, it definitely has that vibe given all the people who’ve crowded into the city since the Darkness returned.

Finally, you have the Horseshoe, an island that was given to the invading dwarven army to settle. Not only dwarves live there, as there were a number of orcs and humans serving in the army, but the population is about 75% dwarves still. They’ve made a fairly thriving community however, starting only with the siege engines and supply wagons they brought with them for building materials. And while I don’t have time to go more in-depth here, you’ll definitely see plenty more of the Horseshoe during the campaign…

/// WINNING CONUNDRUM: A DINNER DISASTER

When the Seekers arrive at Guildmaster Leera’s estate, everyone else is already stuffing their faces and pushing up their sleeves to show off their battle scars.

The guildmaster, seated at the head of the table, stands and raises a glass. “I would like to make a toast in honor of what has to be the bravest team of Seekers to have ever walked this city.”

Feyn straightens in his seat. Valora pats her hair. Asha smirks.

The guildmaster’s eyes glaze over them one-by-one before passing to the other side of the table where a serious-looking group of muscular Seekers sit. “Congratulations,” the guildmaster says, lifting her glass to them.

Even Khor seems to stare in disbelief. Roland grunts.

“What?!” A grizzled elf at the other end of the table stands. “Those featherweights?!

A glob of pudding appears from nowhere and smacks the side of the elf's face. Suddenly, food is flying through the air in all directions. A greasy chicken leg catapults right into Valora’s lap. She stands, scowling. “That’s it," she says as she pulls an enormous platter of red-sauced linguini from the table. “Do you know how much this outfit cost?” Feyn takes one end of the platter, and together they launch the linguini.

Asha dodges the bits of flying food, glaring across the table at the other team of Seekers. “Bravest? We’ll see about that.” Khor hands them an oversized gravy boat and nods in approval. Asha pulls back and flings the gravy with all their strength.

Guildmaster Leera, somehow perfectly clean, stands from her seat. “That will be quite enough. This behavior is unbecoming to Seekers." She glares around the room. "Perhaps you’ve all been working a bit too hard and could use a few days off. And while you’re at it, I expect each and every one of you to actually read a book or two and report to me on it when you return. Clearly, you need to broaden your horizons a little.”

A clump of thickened gravy lands on the guildmaster’s forehead and slides down her face. She stands for a moment, glaring straight ahead until, silently, she reaches down for the tureen of beet soup…

We had a bit of a conundrum ourselves this morning! When our art team woke up, we were at a tie! And we couldn’t just choose one arbitrarily, so the art team started working on two sketches, and our story editor started writing two versions of the story. And that seemed silly when you all made your voices so clear.. So 4 of the Seekers get a point today! For those of you just joining, read more about our daily conundrums in Update 9.

Valora pulls into the lead! Poor Naz...

Anyway, the Seekers found themselves in a bit of trouble today, so perhaps with this conundrum they can earn a little sophistication.

You know the drill by now! Vote for your choice or your favorite Seeker. The winner at the end of the week gets a special prize!

Whew! We made it! I know that was a big update, but we’ve got a LOT to do before this KS ends a week from today. Thanks for hanging in with us!

Excitedly,

Update 14- New Stretch Goal Announced
over 1 year ago – Tue, Sep 13, 2022 at 03:35:20 AM

[tl;dr- New Stretch Goal update, New Conundrum, AMA with Storytellers]

When we all got to work today it really sank in that this is our last full week of the Kickstarter campaign. We’re really enjoying the daily conundrums and reading your enthusiastic comments! We’ve got a lot in store for you, every day this week. Stay tuned! For now, we have a little surprise…

///BONUS STRETCH GOAL

We’re on our way to $245K and unlocking the extra gold treasure pack at the premium tier. To help make things more interesting, we’re announcing a NEW stretch goal! Once we reach $230K we’ll get *drumroll*....

New Goal: $230K- Base Tier. Design Upgrade of Destiny Bag. $245K- Premium Tier. Extra Gold Treasure Pack. Bonus action and boost cards for extra variety

The Destiny bag is currently going to ship as a plain resource bag, and with this stretch goal we’ll put a nifty design (the Kinfire logo depicted as an example). Our Art Director thinks we can do better than the Kinfire logo, what do you think?

Anyway, as I’m writing this update we’re at almost $224K so we can see this goal in sight! Then once we hit it we should be moving on towards the extra gold treasure pack for the premium collection.

///THE WINNING CONUNDRUM- MONSTER MEET-UP

The monster stands to its full, towering height. Naz feels for her sword. “My weapons! They must have slipped out when we fell.”

Asha reaches for their dagger and finds it missing. “How could I have been so stupid! I left it in my other outfit.”

“No one has a single weapon on them?” Naz looks around at the group, but they only shrug.

Valora pushes up her sleeves and bounces on her feet. “We can take it. Come on.”

“Maybe we should think this through first,” Feyn says, a nervous edge to his voice. “We could let Asha distract it with her trademark humor and charm.” Asha rolls their eyes.

The monster takes a step closer to them, thick strings of saliva dripping from its razor-sharp teeth.

“You know,” Khor says, seeming unafraid. “It’s possible the creature might just be thirsty.” They approach the monster with their hands up. “Hello there. My name is Khor.”

The creature seems to snarl in response. “Greeellfffffaggh.”

Khor nods. “I see. Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Greelfagh.”

Roland steps up next to Khor and greets the creature. “I just so happen to have a kettle and some orcish tea– Luca’s special blend.” The monster's eyes light up.

Khor reaches into their satchel and pulls out a box. “Perhaps you would like to try this game I recently purchased in town. It’s all the rage. I had to order the deluxe edition months ago. It has a hand-painted first player token carved from real elven teakwood.”

Khor and Roland sit on the ground playing a board game with a giant monster holding a teacup delicately between their giant claws

Moments later, they are all gathered around the game, sipping cups of freshly brewed tea alongside their new friend, Greelfagh.

Naz sighs as she takes her turn. “If I'm going to beat you all, I'll have to make it fast. We're already late for the Seekers' Dinner back in the city."

"Ugh," Asha groans. "Do we have to?"

Valora beams. "Yes, we have to! I bought a brand new outfit just for the occasion. Chef-prepared dishes, fine china, crystal goblets, candelabras. It'll be just like home…"

Seeker Kinfire Leaderboard. Valora-2, Roland-1, Naz-0, Khor-1, Feyn-1, Asha-1

Roland and Khor are catching up thanks to your votes for tea and board games! Remember the Seeker with the most Kinfire tokens at the end of the week will get whatever is in Khor’s gift box from Update 9. Now on to today’s conundrum…

You’re invited to a fancy dinner with other Seekers from the guild and a food fight breaks out. What do you throw? Conundrum: Choose Between- Linguini with sauce (Feyn and Valora would get a Kinfire token), Bacon-wrapped dates (Naz and Roland would get a Kinfire token), Gravy Boat (Asha and Khor would get a Kinfire token).

This, my friends, is what we call “foreshadowing”. I’m VERY excited to see what wins this particular conundrum, and I can’t wait to see what the art team draws for us.

///AMA WITH STORYTELLERS ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 16TH

This week’s AMA is going to be with some of our storytelling team! We’ll be joined by our story editor Cathy Bock (The Game Bocks), our webcomic author Brandon Chen (God Game), and our worldbuilding and narrative consultant Mateusz “Mat” Tomaszkiewicz (The Witcher). Update 13: Spotlight on Forteller Narration!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Sep 12, 2022 at 12:29:02 AM

[tl;dr- Forteller narration sample and spotlight]

Brief weekend update here, friends. We want to take some time to shine our spotlight on Forteller Games and the absolutely incredible work they do in board game audio narration.

We are partnering with Forteller Games to provide audio narration for every folio intro and story card in the game. The goal is to provide gaming groups with the ability to just sit back and listen as you progress in the game and make your choices, rather than making one person the designated reader (Personally, I'm happy to do it, but I know not every game group has a Risa in it). Forteller utilizes professional voice actors, original music composition, and sound effects to do more than just read cards to you. They're providing a full immersive experience.

From their Marketing Rockstar Nicolle the Troll:

"Your Tabletop, Our Stage!

Forteller provides an epic storytelling experience with professional voice actors, ambient music, and sound effects. You will enhance Kinfire Chronicles: Night's Fall's adventures with premium narrations and decision branching.

Is it required?

Absolutely not! Forteller narration are optional experiences! We use the term "frictionless technology" as a cornerstone of what we do.  This means, we aim to build amazing technology that doesn't interfere with the social gathering of playing a boardgame together.

How to level up your gameplay?

If you back our Premium Collection pledge level you'll already receive the Forteller narration, but you can also get it as an add-on. And if you're on the fence, I highly recommend listening to their audio narration sample of the intro for Quest 1. Gives me chills every time.

Quick reminder, you have a few more hours to vote on the best way to distract a monster in update 11, and we'll have the winning sketch and continuing story in tomorrow's update.

Be sure to use some of today to take care of yourself. And if you do that by playing a game, let us know which one it is!

Cheers!
